Feel like you're too limited with the palettes in GB Studio? Unfortunately, it's all due to the limitations of the Game Boy Color. However, there is a way to increase the amount of palettes used in a scene. Well, sort of. For backgrounds, it only works with scenes larger than the screen.

This project also includes an error screen that shows up when trying to play on a non-color Game Boy.

This project was made in GB Studio 4.0, so you will need to migrate it when opening it in GB Studio 4.1 or newer.

This trick has been used since 1985, and I wanted to shed some light on it. I'm using it a lot in the game I'm working on.

What's the game you did this in?

I did it in Ruby & Rusty and also Wink & the Broken Robot. They’re both on my page 😀
